Derawan liveaboard: what it means here
Indonesia Juara does not sell liveaboards. Our Private Trip (3D2N or 4D3N) gives your group its own speedboat through Sangalaki, Kakaban and Maratua, with nights ashore. Read what the format is, and is not, before you book flights into Berau.

The honest answer first
What "Derawan liveaboard" means on this route
Indonesia Juara does not sell liveaboards. What we run is the Private Trip Derawan (3D2N or 4D3N), a boat-based itinerary rather than a cabin-berth vessel. Your group of 2–10 guests has its own speedboat and guide between the islands, and nights are spent at the stay you choose.
The word carries a specific expectation for divers who have done Komodo or Raja Ampat. If sleeping aboard is non-negotiable, our trips are not the right fit.
Our Derawan trips are snorkel-based; scuba diving is not included.

Our trips cover 13 destinations. A route linking Derawan, Sangalaki, Kakaban and Maratua draws most of them; the number of nights decides how many fit.
How many days
How many days a boat-based itinerary needs
Talisayan and Labuan Cermin sit on the Berau coast, which is why they need the 4D3N. Indonesia Juara runs these two lengths only.

Indonesia Juara does not sell liveaboards. The Private Trip Derawan is priced by the stay you choose, and larger groups pay less each because the boat and guiding are shared.
Flights to Berau (BEJ) are not included. Rates as published on indonesiajuara.asia.

When to go
The best season is April to November
The entire route depends on open-water crossings between Derawan, Sangalaki, Kakaban and Maratua, which are most reliable from April to November; December to March is the wetter period, though open-trip departures are published in every month. Every itinerary meets and ends at Kalimarau Airport (BEJ): confirm the itinerary in writing first, book flights second.

No. Our boat-based Private Trip starts from USD 1,290 in total for two guests on a 3D2N (standard tier) and from USD 2,190 on a 4D3N; the stay sets the price and larger groups pay less each. The Open Trip 4D3N is USD 280 per person, minimum 7 guests. Flights are not included.
