How a private boat day works
On our Private Trip the speedboat is for your group only, and the itinerary is confirmed in writing before you book.
Boat types
Speedboat, cabin boat or small yacht
General guidance on the boats seen in the archipelago. Indonesia Juara does not hire out boats or yachts; our trips use a speedboat.

Indonesia Juara does not sell standalone charters. The Private Trip Derawan includes a private speedboat and is priced by the stay you choose; larger groups pay less each because the boat is shared.

Why a licensed local captain matters
Local skippers navigate the archipelago's shifting sandbars and reef channels daily. They know where currents gather plankton for mantas near Sangalaki, how to position safely for the Kakaban jellyfish lake, and keep to lighting and speed rules near turtle nesting beaches.
On our trips a local guide comes with the boat, and the Premium tier adds a tour leader.

Documentation
Every trip includes documentation: Standard with GoPro; Premium with drone, GoPro, Sony mirrorless camera and video editing.

Boat charter questions
Not as a standalone service. The Private Trip Derawan, with a private speedboat, starts from USD 1,290 in total for two guests on 3D2N (Standard) and USD 2,190 for two on 4D3N; the price depends on the stay and larger groups pay less each. Flights to Berau are booked by you.
